In the event that our local rating is at Substantial or High, occupancy limits will be in place for the children’s room, community room, and Canaan Branch Library and large group programs will be moved outdoors or online. You can find the current rating for Columbia County on the CDC website here.

As of May 6, 2022, the CDC COVID-19 community level rating for Columbia County is High. CDC recommendations for this level: “Wear a mask indoors in public and on public transportation. Taking Care of One Another

As of March 2, 2022, face masks no longer required in library buildings, in keeping with Chatham Central School District policy.

Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the library and gloves are also available for patrons who prefer to use them.

On the day of your visit, if you are feeling sick, have received a positive COVID-19 test, or have been in close proximity with anyone who’s had a positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the 14 days leading up to your appointment, PLEASE STAY HOME and FEEL BETTER.
