COVID-19

The Chatham Public Library is open for in-person browsing and public computer use during our regular library hours.

We are monitoring the CDC’s COVID-19 community level rating for Columbia County as it is updated weekly and adjusting our services accordingly. In the event that our local rating is at Substantial or High, occupancy limits will be in place for the children’s room, community room, and Canaan Branch Library and large group programs will be moved outdoors or online. You can find the current rating for Columbia County on the CDC website here.

Taking Care of One Another

As of March 2, 2022, face masks no longer required in library buildings, in keeping with Chatham Central School District policy.

Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the library and gloves are also available for patrons who prefer to use them.

On the day of your visit, if you are feeling sick, have received a positive COVID-19 test, or have been in close proximity with anyone who’s had a positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the 14 days leading up to your appointment, PLEASE STAY HOME and FEEL BETTER.

Returning Your Library Loans
Items may be returned inside as well as to the outdoor book and media drop. If you’ve borrowed a museum pass, ukulele, or other fragile item, please return in person to the circulation desk staff.
